About The Position

The Sub System Technical Lead (SSTL) leads technical program management across one or more vehicle lines and serves as the primary liaison between the design team and vehicle program management, engineering, and manufacturing. The role drives technical program execution from development through end-of-life, ensuring systems meet functional and performance requirements while meeting targets for cost, weight, investment, timing, and quality. The SSTL leads engineering and quality issue resolution throughout program phases; supports bulletin responses from concept development through validation and launch; and participates actively in launch activities, including onsite plant support. The role maintains vehicle development plans, releases supplier specifications, manages requirement changes through Design Change Requests, leads post-launch warranty initiatives, and champions cost-saving efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in automotive engineering, product development, or program management.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex technical programs from concept through launch.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems, manufacturing processes, and engineering development cycles.
  • Experience with issue resolution, change management, and supplier coordination.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as CATIA or NX, PLM systems such as Teamcenter, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel and support onsite launch activities at manufacturing plants.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), APQP, FMEA, and other quality tools.
  • Demonstrated success in value optimization and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and leading sourcing or tooling activities.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in automotive engineering.
  • Ability to interpret and manage technical specifications and design change requests.

Responsibilities
