About The Position

Participates in build, design, configuration, integration, maintenance, training, and test of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS).

Requirements

• Assembly of mechanical and electrical drones
• Integration and test
• Buildup of assemblies & subassemblies
• Use of machine shop tools including CNC mills, 3D printers
• CAD tools for designing models
• Documentation of processes and build techniques
• Technical support and troubleshooting
• Training and curriculum development assistance
• Testing, data collection and analysis
• Report preparation and process improvement recommendations

Responsibilities

• Participates in rapid prototyping for the design process for drones
• Make recommendations for modification during the design process based on feedback from previous testing results to meet desired specifications.
• Performs assembly of mechanical and electrical drones, integration and test, and buildup of assemblies & subassemblies
• Uses a variety of machine shop tools and other items including CNC mills, 3D printers, etc.
• May use CAD tools to assist in designing models for drone assembly
• Documents processes and build techniques
• Provides technical support to stakeholders and troubleshoots issues
• Assists in training and curriculum development
• Participates in testing, data collection and analysis
• Prepares reports for leadership discussions on the process and recommends process improvement
• Travel for field testing and/or project meetings may be required
