About The Position

COLSA Corporation is hiring for a UAS Specialist to join our Uncrewed Systems Department where you will participate in the integration, maintenance, training, and test of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS).

Requirements

• Integration, maintenance, training, and test of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS)
• Assembly of mechanical and electrical drones, integration and test, and buildup of assemblies & subassemblies
• Use of machine shop tools including CNC mills, 3D printers
• Documentation of processes and build techniques
• Technical support and troubleshooting
• Testing, data collection and analysis
• Report preparation for leadership
• Assisting operations and training team with curriculum and training demonstrations
• Field testing and project meetings
• Piloting drones

Responsibilities

• Participates in rapid prototyping for the design process for drones
• Makes recommendations for modification during the design process based on feedback from previous testing results to meet desired specifications.
• Performs assembly of mechanical and electrical drones, integration and test, and buildup of assemblies & subassemblies
• Uses a variety of machine shop tools and other items including CNC mills, 3D printers, etc.
• Documents processes and build techniques
• Provides technical support to stakeholders and troubleshoots issues
• Participates in testing, data collection and analysis
• Prepares reports for leadership discussions on the process and recommends process improvement
• May assist operations and training team with curriculum and training demonstrations
• Travel for field testing and/or project meetings
• May pilot drone following a specific flight plan or obtaining useful footage
