About The Position
COLSA Corporation is hiring for a UAS Specialist to join their Uncrewed Systems Department. In this role, the specialist will participate in the integration, maintenance, training, and test of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS).
Responsibilities
- Participates in rapid prototyping for the design process for drones
- Makes recommendations for modification during the design process based on feedback from previous testing results to meet desired specifications.
- Performs assembly of mechanical and electrical drones, integration and test, and buildup of assemblies & subassemblies
- Uses a variety of machine shop tools and other items including CNC mills, 3D printers, etc.
- Documents processes and build techniques
- Provides technical support to stakeholders and troubleshoots issues
- Participates in testing, data collection and analysis
- Prepares reports for leadership discussions on the process and recommends process improvement
- May assist operations and training team with curriculum and training demonstrations
- Travel for field testing and/or project meetings
- May pilot drone following a specific flight plan or obtaining useful footage
