About The Position

Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Study Hall Monitor will assist with checking in/out student athletes, monitoring students, finding resources on campus, and addressing disruptive behavior. This role is crucial in maintaining an effective learning environment within the Library and Learning Center (LLC).

Requirements

  • Must have attended at least some college to the level of Sophomore.
  • Maintain a 3.5 semester and overall grade point average.
  • Excellent level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Cultural sensitivity and an ability to build rapport with a diverse population.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous USU college student familiar with Banner, Canvas, MyUSU, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Open and close the BDAC study lounge at designated times.
  • Monitor check-in/check-out for all student-athletes entering the Library and Learning Center.
  • Assist in the maintenance of an effective learning space in the LLC.
  • Help guide students to tutoring/writing centers.
  • Help student-athletes navigate university systems used for education.
  • Submit nightly reports to the Supervisor outlining any concerns.
  • Follow all rules and policies of athletic and library staff.
  • Maintain good standing regarding the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and other monitors on a weekly basis.
