About The Position
Provides and supervises instructional and behavioral activities for students referred by the school principal or assistant principal for in-school suspension. Ensures assigned class work is completed, advises students in resolving problems as needed, maintains classroom order, and performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Maintains attendance rolls, study hall roster, tardy roster, and records.
- Tutors students when requested.
- Calls security for student escorts to the restroom, lunch, or other designated areas.
- Monitors and defuses angry, out-of-control, or hostile student behaviors.
- Communicates with parents as appropriate regarding discipline in study hall.
- Maintains a quiet study environment.
- Compiles reports and files of individual and group incidents, actions taken, and/or recommendations; prepares daily and weekly reports; and maintains student sign-in logs.
- Gathers student assignments from teachers for students to complete while absent from class, in compliance with on-campus-suspension rules.
- Completes a process form with students regarding their behavior.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required, or as directed.
