Study Hall Monitor
About The Position
The Study Hall Monitor will supervise students in the gym before school and during study hall. Responsibilities include assisting with homework, monitoring computer usage, keeping accurate student counts and whereabouts, completing behavior sheets, and documenting behaviors. The role also involves covering advisory for a traveling teacher on early-outs and communicating with and assisting teachers with homework and projects that need to be worked on during study hall. The position requires maintaining a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality, similar to that expected of fully licensed teachers.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- Supervise students in the gym before school
- Supervise students during study hall, including assisting with homework, monitoring computer usage, keeping physical student counts and whereabouts, completing behavior sheets, and documenting behaviors.
- Cover advisory for a traveling teacher on early-outs
- Communicate with and assist teachers with homework and projects that need to be worked on during study hall
- Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers
