About The Position

This position assists study abroad advisors in overseeing and administering outbound study abroad opportunities. The employee will answer general student questions via email and in person, triage questions from students, parents, and other stakeholders to advisors as necessary, and work collaboratively with other members of the EA/GEO team to market study abroad opportunities through social media, events, and print marketing. The role also involves helping students coordinate the academic side of their study abroad experience, including course registration and transfer credits, maintaining program information on the study abroad website, ViaTRM software system, and social media, and facilitating applications for independent travelers and study abroad students. Additionally, the position requires co-coordinating program logistics, orientations, events, and recruiting, managing assigned projects, upholding the confidentiality of student records, holding daily office hours as scheduled, and maintaining clear and professional communication with all colleagues, students, and parents. The role emphasizes providing outstanding partner and student support and displaying a collaborative attitude while performing all duties. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM.
  • Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count).
  • If Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience studying, living, or working abroad.
  • Proficiency in English and an additional language.
  • Experience in global education.
