About The Position

Requirements
- BA/BS in Visual Art, Art Education or Design (Master’s a plus) or equivalent professional experience
- 3+ years experience teaching visual arts for adults and K-12 students.
- Track record of high-quality instruction, classroom management, and student progress.
- Clear communicator, organized, and energized by a busy studio environment
- Passion for art history, contemporary art and a “students-first” mindset
Nice To Haves
- Digital art skills are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Teach weekly museum quality art and / or digital art classes for adults and K-12 students of all levels and using a wide variety of media
- Ensure student success in the studio and lab by actively engaging with students and teachers to observe, document and communicate their progress and opportunities for growth
- Implement the One River Method through each class effectively. All teachers have the opportunity to contribute to lesson plan development and are paid extra for doing so
- Clean and organize studio spaces and student artwork and / or oversee digital lab maintenance
- Direct your students to produce high quality work for their exhibitions in January and June. Keep track of their progress to ensure the exhibition work is completed on time for each show.
