About The Position

This position is for a student employee at McFarlin Library. Student employees are expected to adhere to a pre-agreed schedule created at the start of each semester. Availability must include morning or afternoon shifts. Library hours fluctuate during finals and breaks, and employees must be aware of these changes. Any schedule modifications require supervisor approval. The role involves tasks that may be monotonous, and the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs is necessary.

Requirements

• Must have morning or afternoon availability.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and other library patrons.
• Basic computer literacy skills, including Microsoft 360 and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
• Willingness to complete monotonous tasks.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with McFarlin building and website.
• Familiarity with searching for library materials.
• Familiarity with Library of Congress classifications.

Responsibilities
