About The Position

Fitness and Recreation strives to help all student employees develop their career readiness upon graduation. Student Employees are applying academic learning by developing workforce competencies, per The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) guidelines which are: Critical Thinking/Problem Solving Oral/Written Communications Teamwork/Collaboration Digital Technology Leadership Professionalism/Work Ethic Career Management Global/Intercultural Fluency Using a variety of teaching and motivational techniques, this position will create a positive exercise experience. This position is a professional who teaches, leads, and motivates groups through intentionally designed exercise classes. They plan effective, exercise science-based group sessions for different fitness levels. They also possess a wealth of motivational and leadership techniques that help their classes achieve fitness goals. Instructors know the human body, the science of exercise, and how to inspire, challenge, and motivate change in the lives of the people they lead. This position is for employment beginning in the Fall 2026 semester. Training will begin immediately upon hire.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 Term as an undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Oklahoma.
  • Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
  • Must be able to train all ages and special populations.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a certification accredited through a Yoga Alliance RYS200 school (200 hour Yoga certification) within 6 months.

  • Yoga instructors currently certified through a Yoga Alliance RYS200 school (200 hour Yoga certification).
