About The Position

The Department of Spiritual Life Ministry Driver supports GCU Spiritual Life’s mission and vision by helping mobilize student-led ministry to local and global communities in the Phoenix area. Ministry Drivers operate GCU Fleet vehicles to transport GCU student volunteers to and from offsite outreach ministry events. Drivers remain with the ministry leader throughout the event, from beginning to end.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must possess a current driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Must complete GCU fleet driver training and pass the GCU fleet written and practical assessments and a background check before scheduled work hours begin.
• Must be enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a bachelor's or master's program.
• Bachelor's students must retain a minimum 2.0 GPA; master's students must retain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Must maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and drop off a GCU fleet vehicle.
• Confirm volunteer headcounts before traveling to and after returning from the destination.
• Ensure all passengers use seat belts.
• Drive volunteers to and from offsite outreach events.
• Check the van for lost or left-behind items as passengers disembark.
• Communicate vehicle issues to GCU Fleet Service.
• Remain with the ministry leader during the event from beginning to end.
