About The Position
Insight Magazine is a student-run feature magazine at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), producing content for students by students. The magazine aims to be informative, conversational, and relatable, publishing both textual and visual work that is honest and thought-provoking. Contributors have the opportunity to share their work through physical print to the student body and the wider Northern Nevada community. The magazine explores various aspects of journalism, including writing, photography, graphic design, and public relations, providing students with practical experience in the publication industry that can advance their careers.
Requirements
- Understanding of Google Drive
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Bridge and Lightroom
- Creativity towards photos and magazine layouts
- Organized, communicative, and collaborative
- Ability to work nights and weekends
- Commitment to the ethical and moral leadership development of students
- Strong time-management skills
Nice To Haves
- Personal camera is highly recommended
Responsibilities
- Create photographic content for Insight’s print magazine and website
- Edit photos in collaboration with the other Photo Editor and Art Director
- Adhere to strict deadlines
- Attend weekly staff meetings
- Distribute Insight Magazines
