About The Position

Florida Polytechnic University is seeking a Student Worker (Graduate) for the Office of Disability Services (ODS). This position, located at IST Building, Room 1025, is designed to support faculty in implementing authorized testing accommodations that are not easily provided within their classrooms. The graduate student worker will assist in the administration of institutional exams under the supervision of the Office of Disability Services. Duties include administrative tasks, test proctoring, and interaction with examinees, faculty, and staff. Administrative duties encompass answering phones and emails, scanning, copying, filing, maintaining the testing schedule, and other clerical tasks. The role also involves using AIM, a technology resource for ODS communication. The ODS graduate student worker will receive training to administer various exams according to national testing standards to ensure the integrity, security, and confidentiality of tests and examinees.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled or attending classes at Florida Polytechnic University.
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and have successfully completed 12 credits or more in the most recent Fall or Spring semesters.
  • Must be honest and dependable.

  • Attention to detail and self-starting initiative.
  • Ability to follow specific written and oral directions.
  • Give excellent customer service by acting with integrity, responsibility, and courtesy.
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English.

  • This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous proctoring or teaching experience desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Check students in as they arrive at the Testing Center.
  • Maintain clean and quiet atmosphere for testing.
  • Assist in the distribution and collection of test materials.
  • Work with faculty to obtain materials and return them in a timely manner.
  • Actively proctor exams.
  • Implement testing rules and procedures.
  • Work with students who need special accommodations (extended time, enlarged text, testing software, etc.)
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all testing materials.
  • Communicate any issue to Disability Services or designee.
  • Other duties and special projects deemed reasonable and necessary.
