About The Position

This is an opportunity for individuals seeking to start a career in marketing and sales, requiring minimal experience with on-the-job training. The role focuses on building brand awareness for Versiti, a blood center, and its campus territories. The position supports blood collection needs, inspires new donors, and develops strategies for new partnerships and donor education. Key activities include deploying campaigns, participating in promotional events as a brand ambassador, and performing administrative duties such as reporting. This position is designed to continue throughout the academic year and offers a flexible schedule with structured elements like meetings and phone accessibility. The role also involves assisting the department with clerical functions and special projects, including creating marketing materials using tools like Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Canva, data entry, and supporting internal systems (Hemasphere and HemaConnect). Customer service aspects include contacting donors or coordinators as needed, and performing additional assigned tasks while complying with standard operating policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university program in a related field of the internship or recent graduate looking for entry level experience.
  • Less than 1 year experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to be customer-focused and follow through on requests in a timely manner
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to quickly and accurately understand instructions and then work independently on assignments

Responsibilities

  • Actively prospects and networks to continually add new, productive blood drive opportunities.
  • Shadowing blood drive process with new account build and calendar requirements.
  • On-site recruitment as needed or required; hosts sign up tables and supports event drives, will include some evening and/or weekend hours.
  • Create community awareness and development though social media outreach (establish relationships and post drive information).
  • Provides education and support for mission awareness.
  • Prepares and conducts presentations to community groups.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with community organizations and community advocates.
  • Works with marketing/communications to identify blood drive programs and prepares content needed to support defined strategies.
  • Meets project timelines, is organized and timely with follow up.
  • Utilizes Pipeline tracker and keeps up-to-date contact information for key points of contact and interactions had.
  • Maintains the customer service standards of the department and Versiti.
  • Communicates clearly and respectfully with customers, donors and colleagues, sharing all necessary information.
  • Works effectively with team members, contributing to team efforts.
  • Supports Versiti’s mission, vision, and values as well as department goals and objectives.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
  • Understands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Complies with all standard operating policies and procedures.
