About The Position

In a student employee capacity, this role assists with marketing trends, communications outreach, and creative design and production (print and digital) for Baylor Athletics. The student worker will create and edit video and photo content for social media platforms, write engaging captions, and analyze social media data to understand trends and audience sentiment. This position offers an opportunity to learn alongside the social media, marketing, and creative teams, attend meetings and workshops on digital communication strategies, and potentially assist with marketing plans, website maintenance, and vendor partnerships. The role requires adherence to University policies and maintaining punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Create video and photo content at live Baylor Athletics sporting events for publishing on @BaylorAthletics social platforms
  • Edit content to match messaging and goal of social media content campaigns
  • Write creative social media captions that coincide with their content
  • Review analytics and data following content release to learn trends, audience sentiment and brand storytelling
  • Analyze others’ social media content for applicable trends and ideas for future content
  • Learn alongside social media, marketing and creative team members at events to see how campaigns are executed and curated in college athletics
  • Attend regular team meetings and workshops to learn digital communication strategies that are effective in college athletics and Baylor University
  • May assist with developing and implementing marketing or communication plans
  • May write, proofread and edit communications or marketing materials
  • May create or design creative content and materials for digital or print consistent with University branding
  • May maintain department website(s) or social media/digital platforms
  • May perform video editing or video production
  • May work with photo, video, and audio equipment
  • May perform research and make recommendations around emerging marketing or social media trends
  • May assist with projects or initiatives supporting departmental goals
  • May partner with external vendors for events, print or photography
  • May build and maintain relationships with campus partners and external vendors
  • May track, analyze, and prepare reports on social media data and performance
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
