About The Position

Introduction to Sociology one on one tutor. The student is responsible for providing general academic tutoring services to an individual or small group on specific subject matter or area of specialty. Student works under limited supervision, exercises a moderate level of independent judgment and initiative and demonstrates strong understanding in the subject area. Able to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively.

Requirements

• Student must have taken and passed introduction to sociology at Grinnell College.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provides individual tutoring for one or more of the following: Specific courses in the SS and HUM divisions, General study and learning strategies, Metacognitive skills
• General administrative tasks, including but not limited to: Participating in initial and ongoing training, Communicating with instructors about course content, Maintaining cleanliness of study lounge or classroom spaces
