This is an undergraduate mentorship position (BUMP) for a Student Technician. The role involves assisting graduate students with research projects in the field and/or lab, with a focus on Big Game, Conservation Biology, Game Birds, and Habitat. Tasks will vary depending on the specific project but may include deploying and monitoring field equipment, handling captured wildlife, conducting habitat management activities, performing wildlife, vegetative, soil, and hydrological surveys, working in the department greenhouse, and collecting, compiling, organizing, and analyzing various collections, photos, and data. The position also requires tracking and reporting worked time monthly, and taking care of equipment and vehicles. The work will be conducted according to the 2026-27 SRSU Academic Calendar (September 1 - May 31) on the SRSU campus and at field-research locations. Field-research locations may present remote and harsh environmental conditions, including potentially dangerous situations.
