About The Position

The Student Tech - Respiratory Care performs respiratory therapy treatments, procedures, and tests, including floor therapy, oxygen administration, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and basic pulmonary function procedures. The employee works in hospital areas as directed by the supervisor, evaluates and charts patient responses to therapy, and provides care appropriate to the age of the population served. This position does not extend beyond participation in or graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Program.
• Successfully complete a Pharmacology Course.
• Hold an MBRC Education Permit.
• No prior experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapy treatments, procedures, and tests, including floor therapy, oxygen administration, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and basic pulmonary function procedures.
• Work in hospital areas as directed by the supervisor.
• Evaluate and chart patient responses to therapy.
• Provide care appropriate to the age of the population served.
• Safely provide routine and emergent respiratory modalities.
• Assess patients and provide patient care according to protocol.
• Provide accurate and appropriate electronic documentation.
• Provide accurate and appropriate education to patients, students, and new staff.
