Student Teaching University Supervisor - POOL

Universities of Wisconsin•La Crosse, WI

About The Position

Student teaching university supervisors are experienced teachers and administrators who mentor UW-La Crosse teacher candidates during their school experiences. As official university representatives, they serve as liaisons between the School of Education and cooperating schools and agencies, and are responsible for directly supervising teacher candidates. They support candidates’ growth as thoughtful learners, leaders, inquirers, and community members. The School of Education maintains an ongoing pool of potential supervisors for varying program needs. Supervisors communicate regularly with student teachers and cooperating teachers, observe teaching and provide feedback, guide candidates in meeting standards, document progress, and complete assessment forms. They participate in university supervisor activities, including training, orientation, and designated School of Education meetings. Pool searches may not involve active hiring; when positions become available, departments may review applications and contact candidates to confirm interest and schedule an interview. The School of Education offers accredited programs and partners with local, regional, and global educators to provide hands-on learning experiences. It is committed to a welcoming, respectful environment and inclusive teaching practices that support every learner. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at hire and maintain work authorization throughout the employment term; visa sponsorship is not offered.
