About The Position

The Student Teacher Supervisor under general supervision is responsible for evaluating the performance of teacher candidates in the assigned schools in local and surrounding communities.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in an education related discipline.
• Five years of experience in classroom teaching and/or non-teaching administrative position.
• Current certification in the class in which supervision – currently seeking educational diagnostician, principal or school counseling.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Critical analytical skills in order to provide constructive feedback and assess the candidates’ performance in the field.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to conduct face-to-face, online, and verbal presentations.
• Ability to communicate technical information and instructions to a diverse audience.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently once given a project.
• Texas Education Agency ID number, Current Texas Teaching Certification, active certification as a Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) appraiser

Responsibilities

• Evaluating the performance of teacher candidates in the classroom setting of local and surrounding areas.
• Completing a minimum of four, formal classroom evaluations.
• Developing model lessons as needed.
• Participating in and/or conducting seminars.
• Attending department or College meetings required by the Department, Chair or Dean.
