About The Position

The Student Support Team (SST) Coordinator leads the development, implementation, and monitoring of school-based Response to Intervention (RTI) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). This role collaborates closely with administrators, teachers, families, and support staff to coordinate academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions for students who need additional support. The SST Coordinator serves as a key liaison between general education, special education, and support services to promote student success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field (required)
  • Knowledge of restorative practices, RTI/MTSS frameworks, and conflict resolution strategies
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and strong communication skills
  • Commits to equity, student well-being, and continuous professional growth
  • Adapts to changing student and school needs in a fast-paced environment
  • Serves as a collaborative, student-centered leader within the school community

Responsibilities

  • Support school leadership in implementing high-quality, student-centered instruction aligned with the school’s mission and goals
  • Coordinate and manage SST and MTSS/RTI processes, including Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 interventions
  • Conduct classroom and student observations and provide actionable feedback to teachers
  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate academic and behavioral support plans
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student behavioral, social-emotional, and family needs
  • Model professional and mission-aligned interactions with students, families, and staff
  • Lead SST meetings and maintain organized documentation on student progress, interventions, and outcomes
  • Collect and analyze data (assessments, observations, intervention results) to inform decision-making
  • Maintain accurate, confidential student records in compliance with school and district policies
  • Support school-wide supervision, routines, transitions, and emergency procedures
  • Lead and support professional learning related to RTI/MTSS, Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions
  • Collaborate with school leadership to plan and deliver school-wide professional development
  • Support continuous improvement through reflection, feedback, and performance evaluation
  • Partner with families throughout the SST process using clear, consistent communication
  • Collaborate with counselors, family engagement staff, and community partners
  • Support school events such as Open Houses and family meetings as needed
  • Use technology tools to support data tracking, progress monitoring, and communication
  • Recommend resources and budget priorities to strengthen SST programming
