About The Position

St. Paul the Apostle is seeking a part-time Student Support Teacher specializing in Math for grades K–8. This educator will play a key role in supporting student growth through intentional small group instruction, providing both targeted intervention and meaningful extension opportunities. The ideal candidate is skilled in assessing student needs, differentiating instruction, and creating a supportive, engaging environment where all learners can build confidence and achieve academic success.

Requirements

  • Practicing Catholic who upholds the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Must complete VIRTUS training, background check, and fingerprints

Nice To Haves

  • Certified teacher preferred
  • Experience teaching or supporting math instruction at the elementary and/or middle school level preferred
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Commitment to building positive relationships with students and fostering a supportive classroom environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted small group math instruction for intervention and extension (K–8)
  • Use assessment data to plan, group, and adjust instruction
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support student learning goals
  • Monitor progress and communicate updates with teachers and families
  • Create a supportive, respectful learning environment that builds confidence and skills
  • Use varied strategies to engage students and strengthen mathematical thinking
  • Contribute to the school’s mission and participate in team collaboration
  • Other duties as assigned
