About The Position
The Student Support Specialist assists in providing multi-tiered systems of support to students. The assistant works directly with students who have a variety of needs. Some of the responsibilities include providing one-on-one or small group instruction, supporting intervention strategies, and collecting data on student progress.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Positive attitude and rapport with students
- Ability to work cooperatively with teachers and students
Nice To Haves
- Experience as an instructional assistant
- Experience working with at-risk students
Responsibilities
- Check-in and connect with at-risk students regarding their academic progress, attendance, and behavior
- Run interventions during the day that support academic growth
- Run credit recovery programs after each trimester
- Work collaboratively as a member of the building Multi-Tiered Systems and Support (MTSS) team
- Responsible for maintaining confidentiality for all school-related information
- Shall perform other duties as assigned by the principal
