Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in any subject
  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
  • Physical exam that includes TB and drug testing.
  • Must pass both federal and state background checks which screen for crimes including, but not limited to drug related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors.
  • Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks, including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

  • Interest in education, youth development, or human services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stay calm, structured, and supportive in a classroom setting
  • PA Teaching Certification (Public School Certification (public I or II) or Private Academic School Certification), or ability to work under and maintain an emergency permit.
  • Experience using effective behavior management techniques in relating to children to encourage participation and positive relationships and demonstrates enthusiasm in lessons.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside a certified Teacher and play a key role in helping students stay on track academically
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group academic support (reading, math, and core subjects)
  • Reinforce lessons and help students complete schoolwork
  • Support classroom structure, routines, and engagement
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor to students
  • Monitor and communicate student progress with teaching staff
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and productive classroom environment
  • Participate in team discussions around student progress and development
