About The Position

To assist in the establishment, maintenance and safety of our school culture, surveillance and control over the non-instructional activities inside and outside the building, ensuring that all students are successful and contributing members of the school community.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or High School Diploma/G.E.D. and evidence of education or testing requirements according to PDE guidelines.
  • Ability to de-escalate potentially aggressive situations.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to various and challenging environments.
  • Ability to work as an individual and as a team member.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of customer service skills and professionalism.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate a computer and applicable software and devices.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Ability to support a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Nice To Haves

  • First Aid/CPR Certification preferred.
  • Bi/Multilingual skills oral/written preferred.
  • Experience working with students preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor/supervise daily arrival and dismissal activities, including directing on-campus traffic.
  • Maintain security of the building site.
  • Monitor student behavior in corridors/stairwells, lavatories, and cafeteria as assigned.
  • Assist in intervening and de-escalating student altercations as appropriately trained.
  • Help to maintain a safe learning environment by assisting students in following appropriate procedures and rules.
  • Provide varied levels of supports and interventions depending on individual student needs.
  • Provide appropriate academic interventions as needed.
  • Create mentoring relationships with students and help them to strive for and find academic success.
  • Be a liaison between students, teachers, administrators, parents, and visitors in the building.
  • Assist with In School Suspension (ISS) placement and escorting these students for special services.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Monitor/Supervise activities that may be planned by school personnel.
  • Assist in maintaining student accounting records as needed.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, including but not limited to - Equity, Restorative Practices, CPI, PBIS trainings.
