About The Position

The Student support services paraprofessional provides academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students identified as At-Risk and/or receiving Special Education services. The Student Support Paraprofessional works collaboratively with general education teachers, special education staff, and building administrators to promote student success and independence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Meet state and federal requirements for paraprofessional certification
  • Ability to follow teacher/administrator directions, adapt to diverse student needs, and maintain confidentiality

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred
  • Experience working with children in educational or support settings preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families

Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage according to the schedule
  • Follow classroom procedures and maintain continuity of instruction
  • Communicate concerns to supervising staff and/or primary caseload providers
  • Maintain a safe and structured environment
  • Assist students with self-regulation strategies
  • Document student visits and interventions
  • Log students in and out time and purposes (assessment, behavior, curriculum)
