About The Position

The Student Supervisor is responsible for ensuring excellence during each calling shift by guiding student fundraisers, monitoring outreach quality, reporting results, and driving team morale. This role blends operational discipline with culture-building leadership to create an environment where alumni engagement and fundraising success thrive.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled student at Stony Brook University in good academic standing.
  • Demonstrated success in alumni outreach and fundraising asks.
  • Strong coaching ability with clear communication and leadership presence.
  • Comfort monitoring calls and delivering constructive feedback.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and maintain team morale.
  • Detail-oriented with strong accountability for reporting and shift hygiene.
  • Reliable, punctual, and disciplined in process execution.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and model professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor live calls for quality, compliance, and effectiveness of alumni engagement.
  • Ensure accurate, real-time logging of call results, notes, and alumni updates.
  • Oversee pace, professionalism, and consistency of fundraising asks across the shift.
  • Compile shift results into concise reports.
  • Submit shift reports to the Assistant Director after each shift.
  • Maintain dashboards or trackers used by the student team for goals and performance trends.
  • Provide in-shift coaching to student fundraisers on: Curiosity-led engagement, objection handling, credit card ask confidence, referral language, and multi-ask discipline.
  • Support onboarding and training for new Student Engagement Specialists.
  • Lead brief micro-training moments during shifts to reinforce ask strategy and alumni connection skills.
  • Lead fundraising competitions and engagement games to support motivation and performance.
  • Create morale-boosting elements for shifts including themes, recognition moments, and team celebrations.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and energizing environment that reinforces the mission and shared wins.
  • Champion shift morale through recognition, encouragement, and team alignment.
  • Encourage experience-centered outreach and alumni connection (not just transactional goals).
  • Reinforce the idea that meaningful engagement drives results and builds long-term donor relationships.
