About The Position

Roseville Area Schools has two vacancies for a Student Success Supervisor Coach. This is a 4-hour position starting as soon as possible. The Student Success Supervisor Coach will provide districtwide support. The primary objectives of this position are to provide continuous support to the overall educational environment by utilizing school-wide positive behavior interventions and supports as well as Responsive Classroom Strategies in order to address student behaviors. This role involves communicating and collaborating with families and staff regarding intervention and support plans for students. The coach will lead groups of students to support their social, emotional, behavioral and academic success, provide professional development to staff on equity, and employ restorative justice strategies to help students restore the environment after harm has been done. Additionally, the role includes providing a Check and Connect program for students, being trained and willing to lead circles, mediations, and other restorative practices as needed, and developing positive relationships with all students while serving as a mentor across cultural differences. Student Success Supervisor Coaches are committed to students and their learning, dedicated to helping students maximize their engagement in learning and minimize time spent out of the classroom due to behavior. They act on the belief that all students can follow expectations with appropriate and adequate supports, treating students equitably and adjusting their practice based on student needs and circumstances. They understand and implement research-based strategies like Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Check and Connect, Restorative Justice (RJ) practices, and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) to address student behaviors positively, defuse situations, and implement the school's behavior plan with fidelity and consistency. They monitor intervention success, adapt as needed, and communicate and collaborate with staff and families, maintaining confidentiality of private data and seeking input for interventions. Home visits may be necessary for communication and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Experience in a diverse environment (preferred)
  • Experience with Restorative Practices (preferred)
  • Experience with Check and Connect (preferred)
  • Experience with Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Respond to student behaviors using strategies such as Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Check and Connect, and Restorative Justice (RJ) practices.
  • Defuse and deescalate situations through research-based strategies like Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI).
  • Implement the school's plan for responding to student behavior with fidelity and consistency, while maintaining an individualized and equitable approach.
  • Monitor the success of interventions and adapt as needed.
  • Communicate with staff and families to ensure all parties are clear on the response to a specific concern and follow-up as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of private data and keep it confidential.
  • Seek and incorporate input from staff and families in regard to selected interventions, especially those that are longer term.
  • Work collaboratively to resolve concerns expressed by staff and families.
  • Conduct home visits as necessary for communication and collaboration.
