About The Position

The Student Success Advocate is responsible for providing support to students to ensure their academic and personal success. This role involves working closely with students, families, and school staff to identify needs, develop strategies, and connect students with appropriate resources. The advocate will play a key role in fostering a positive and supportive school environment, promoting student engagement, and helping students overcome barriers to learning.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with youth or in a support role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and families.
  • Knowledge of community resources and support services.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., education, social work, psychology).
  • Experience in a school setting.
  • Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support and guidance to students to promote academic achievement and personal well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, administrators, and parents to develop and implement individualized student success plans.
  • Identify students who may be at risk academically, socially, or emotionally and intervene with appropriate support strategies.
  • Connect students and families with school and community resources, such as tutoring, counseling, and social services.
  • Facilitate communication between students, families, and the school to ensure a collaborative approach to student support.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust support strategies as needed.
  • Promote a positive school climate and encourage student participation in school activities.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current on best practices in student support and advocacy.
