About The Position

The Student Success Advocate is responsible for supporting students in achieving academic and personal success. This role involves working closely with students, parents, and school staff to identify needs, develop strategies, and provide resources to help students overcome challenges and reach their full potential. The advocate will play a key role in fostering a positive and supportive school environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with youth or in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications.
  • Completion of a three (3) year work history in the application, including periods of unemployment, schooling, and volunteer work.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in counseling, social work, or a related support role.
  • Knowledge of community resources for students and families.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to students to address academic, social, and emotional needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to develop and implement student success plans.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns.
  • Connect students and families with community resources and support services.
  • Monitor student attendance, behavior, and academic performance.
  • Facilitate group sessions or workshops on topics related to student success.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives to promote student well-being and achievement.
