About The Position
KyCAD is seeking to fill three vacancies for the position of Student Studio Monitor in the 849 Studio Building for the 2026-2027 Academic Year. This position is open to all students at the Kentucky College of Art + Design and will be active from August 3rd, 2026, to May 15th, 2027, with the possibility of renewal. The role involves supporting the safe and effective use of classrooms, equipment, and shared studio spaces, serving as the primary building attendant during designated open studio hours. Responsibilities include monitoring studio activity, maintaining cleanliness, tracking attendance, communicating issues, and enforcing safety policies and studio protocols.
Requirements
- A current, engaged student within the current KyCAD community.
- Ability to perform the work as outlined in the position description and responsibilities sections.
- Ability to lift 30lbs (approx.) and must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- Must pass pre-employment screenings as mandated by KyCAD Human Resources, which may include a national background check.

Responsibilities
- Serves as an engaged staff member for the 849 Studio Building ensuring safety.
- Serves as studio attendant for the facility.
- Works with, completes, and maintains the user information log for building users during work hours.
- Secures the facility at the end of each shift.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
