About The Position

Metro Technology Centers is accepting applications for Student Services Representative who will serve as the District's primary point of contact for students and community customers including managing incoming calls, answering customer service inquiries, identifying and assessing customer needs to achieve satisfaction with accuracy and efficiency. Performs administrative and assessment assistant duties requiring good organizational skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, general education degree, or equivalent
  • Twenty-four (24) months administrative assistant experience
  • Keyboarding and computer skills with basic word processing and spreadsheet skills.
  • Able to be bonded for cash handling purposes.
  • Excellent communication skills to include telephone etiquette and presentation skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and think critically.
  • Ability to maintain security of confidential materials.
  • Ability to give explicit or general directions.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Reading and writing skill necessary for composing routine correspondence providing standard information in letter or report form.
  • Reliable, dependable and punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Professionally greets students, customers, and community partners by phone, in person, and via email; monitors and responds to live chat on District website and email inquiries.
  • Provides information pertaining to all Metro Tech courses and programs.
  • Process enrollments/withdrawals for short-term courses; communicates effectively with short-term course coordinators.
  • Manages payments and processes refund requests and forms; keeps account of individual cash drawer balance; manages daily deposits for finance department.
  • Maintains office and bursar files regarding daily deposits and third-party billing.
  • Assists bursar with disbursement of financial aid checks, accounts receivable functions, completing, filing and/or distributing documents related to student payments; create payment plan for full-time programs as needed.
  • Works efficiently with the District student information system to input information requests and follows up on requests as directed.
  • Maintains files containing Certificates of Completion and disperse after verification of no holds.
  • Collects and inputs information requests from prospective students.
  • Works closely with Career Advisors providing pre-career guidance to prospective full-time students through the evaluation of customer needs.
  • Establishes assessment schedule and administers assessments.
  • Maintains assessment data base and resource files of assessment instruments.
  • Documents assessment results and provides reports as needed.
  • Coordinates with Metro Tech staff, partner districts, and other community entities to provide assessment services.
  • Maintains and requisitions office supplies as needed.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
