About The Position

The Coral Springs Regional Institute of Public Safety (CSRIPS) is seeking a part-time Student Services Advisor to serve as a student liaison. This role involves coordinating, scheduling, and interacting with students in both lecture and skill assessment settings. The advisor will gain in-depth knowledge of all functional areas handled by Student Services, including the student life cycle, and assist students with resolving problems by providing guidance and offering solutions. They will also coordinate and participate in career events and Open House, explain processes and procedures, and manage or refer students to appropriate services outside of Student Services. The position requires monitoring and managing the MyCSRIPS system and general email to ensure timely issue resolution, and assisting the CSRIPS Operations Manager and staff with various office duties, including handling mail. The advisor must stay informed about current literature and developments in Financial Aid, Registration, Enrollment, Billing, and related professional organizations, and participate in department and campus committees as assigned. The schedule for this position is 9:00 am – 2:00 pm, Monday – Friday, with occasional nights and weekends required with notice. Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Two years of experience working in an administrative support position, preferably in an academic institution/training environment.
  • An equivalent combination of training, and related experience will be considered in lieu of education requirement.
  • Ability to learn the use of our management system, rules and regulations.
  • Ensures all work is performed according to established safety standards, Federal, State, local codes/regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college/minimum of an Associate's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a student liaison for the Coral Springs Regional Institute of Public Safety (CSRIPS).
  • Collaborates with all departments to promote a positive, student-centered experience.
  • Communicates professionally and respectfully with students, internal stakeholders, and all other members of the CSRIPS.
  • Embraces and promotes a diverse work and learning environment.
  • Facilitates collaboration and teamwork across the institution to support student success.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to students, guests, and vendors at the CSRIPS training facility.
  • Provides advice to students in-person, through the student information system, by e-mail, and by phone.
  • Acts as the first point of contact for students, alumni, and student delegates for questions related to CSRIPS or general information.
  • Gains an in-depth knowledge of all functional areas handled by Student Services, including the student life cycle.
  • Assists students with resolving problems by providing in-depth, comprehensive guidance and offering solutions or researching options.
  • Coordinates and participates in career events and Open House, both internally and externally.
  • Explains and facilitates appropriate processes and procedures for students to resolve problems and answer questions.
  • Manages or refers students appropriately to services outside the immediate purview of Student Services.
  • Determines when it is appropriate to escalate issues to specialized departmental staff.
  • Quickly incorporates critical campus situations and/or major policy changes into their work.
  • Monitors and manages MyCSRIPS and CSRIPS general email to ensure issues are resolved appropriately and timely, in compliance with service level agreements.
  • Assists the CSRIPS Operations Manager and staff with various office duties.
  • Handles incoming and outgoing mail for the office.
  • Keeps abreast of current literature and developments in the field of Financial Aid, Registration, Enrollment, Billing and related professional organizations.
  • Participates on department and campus committees, programs, and projects as assigned.
