About The Position

This summer program (in collaboration with KS Summer School) begins on June 8, 2026 and will run through July 24, 2026. During this program, you will learn from kumu and an AI expert from Georgia Tech. You will also design and build real-world solutions that use AI to help solve 'aina-based issues. This program will be in collaboration with Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi - Kauluhala Summer Program and will allow you to earn credits while gaining valuable ‘ike for your future career in computer science, environmental science or any 'aina-based/research field. Work / learning will take place on campus, at Kumuola and at Georgia Tech. This program is open to current KS High School 9th, 10th & 11th graders. Selected haumana must be able to travel to Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA on 6/20 – 7/2.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in high school.
  • Ability to take direction and complete tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in the use of the PC/Mac and standard office software

Responsibilities

  • Completes variety of tasks in accordance with program guidelines within assigned department(s).
  • Receives training, guidance, and mentoring as part of the internship experience while completing assigned projects and tasks.
