About The Position

Replacing graduating students. Summary Barry University School of Law seeks a Research Assistant for Professor Haley Mendola. This is a temporary, part-time position that may work up to 10 hours per week/40 hours per semester. The Research Assistant will assist Professor Mendola by researching topics assigned as well as completing various writing assignments.

Requirements

  • Must be a Barry University School of Law student who has completed the first year of Law School in good academic standing.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills required.
  • Self-motivated and meets deadlines.
  • Must have specialized knowledge of Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw information systems.
  • Excellent writing skills required.
  • Must have extensive knowledge or desire to learn in the specific legal area assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Assist professor in scholarly work the professor deems appropriate by:
  • Researching topics assigned using Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw and any other appropriate information.
  • Completing various writing assignments as assigned.
  • Completing additional research requests as assigned.
  • Performing edits and citing checks on the professor's articles.
