About The Position

The Vegetable Production Systems Laboratory in the Department of Horticulture and Crop Science located on The OSU-Wooster Campus invites applications for part-time and full-time Student Research Assistant positions. These roles are ideal for individuals seeking to align their work with their interests and abilities. The laboratory addresses real-world challenges faced by vegetable growers, with research and educational resources impacting many people. The focus is on studying vegetables and vegetable farming, with an emphasis on tools and practices to improve farm success, resilience, and food quality. Work is conducted year-round in various settings including outdoors, high tunnels, greenhouses, laboratories, and offices. Tasks vary, accommodating different interests and abilities, and the dynamic nature of the work provides opportunities for learning and diverse experiences. The lab does not study pesticides but may study fertilizers and other plant/soil applied materials. The team combines critical thinking with action, constantly learning and seeking to improve methods. Schedule flexibility is offered. Positions are located on The Ohio State University Wooster Campus.
