About The Position

ALTA VISTA INNOVATION HIGH SCHOOL is seeking a Full-Time Student Relations Technician to join their team. This role is crucial in supporting student growth and development by managing student records, data input, and communication with students and parents. The position operates Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The organization's motto is “There is a Student in Front of Everything We Do,” and they are passionate about making a difference in students' lives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education required.
  • 2 years of work experience in a fast-paced, clerical support position in a professional business setting.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy of work.
  • Good record-keeping techniques that demonstrate desirable planning and organizational skills.
  • Proficient or Intermediate skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to travel in performance of job duties is required.
  • Mental Demands: high workflow management, high project coordination.
  • Finger Dexterity: using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
  • Talking: especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Average Hearing: able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
  • Average Visual Abilities: ordinary acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or operate machinery.
  • Physical Strength: sedentary work. Sitting most of the time, and occasionally exerts up to 10 lbs. of force.
  • Frequent multi-tasking, changing of task priorities, repetitious exacting work required.
  • Working in a noisy, distracting environment with frequent deadline pressures.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains files related to the management of student records, data input, reconciliation, correspondence, and public contact.
  • Communicates with students and/or parents regarding student information, progress, or concerns.
  • Performs complex and specialized activities related to student records and compliance issues for Average Daily Attendance (ADA) and State educational mandates.
  • Schedules orientation for incoming students.
  • Complies with expulsion, ELL and special education, re-enrollment, and reinstatement enrollment protocols.
  • Ensures all required student enrollment paperwork is complete and correct.
  • Accurately inputs student information into SIS, including immunizations, enrollment dates, school track, and supervising teacher.
  • Properly issues and tracks student work permits.
  • Provides quality customer service.
  • Answers all incoming telephone calls and handles them appropriately.
  • Files documents in student folders.
  • Tracks and records ADA and work samples for accuracy.
  • Audits student work samples and all documents requiring mandatory compliance (Master Agreement, WSR, DLL, Synopsis, Report Cards, etc.).
  • Checks report cards for completeness and accuracy before they go to the registrar.
  • Files student homework.
  • Conducts orientations for new students.
  • Assists teachers with problem-solving issues related to compliance and PLS.
  • Creates and maintains compliance and ADA checklists.
  • Verifies and confirms ADA in the SIS system with form and tracking number.
  • Submits compliance error reports to management.
  • Adheres to attendance policies.
  • Performs administrative duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned.
