Student Radiology Technologist
About The Position
Under direct or indirect supervision of a registered radiographer, performs diagnostic imaging procedures. Assumes responsibility and maintains the general care and safety of patients during imaging procedures. Assures equipment/supplies are present and accounted for at the beginning and end of each imaging procedure. Under direct or indirect supervision of a registered radiographer, coordinates and performs routine diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures, portable x-rays, trauma and surgery procedures according to established standards and practices. Follows Corewell philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care at all times.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Currently in an accredited Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology and/or Ultrasonography program at the 2nd year student level.
- Must have completed the first year of an accredited imaging program.
- Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers Course from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross.
Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic imaging procedures under direct or indirect supervision.
- Maintains general care and safety of patients during imaging procedures.
- Ensures equipment and supplies are present and accounted for.
- Coordinates and performs routine diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures, portable x-rays, trauma and surgery procedures.
