About The Position

University Relations is looking for a creative, organized, and dependable student to support the production of a University Relations podcast. The Student Podcast Production Assistant will help turn recorded conversations into polished, engaging podcast episodes that highlight the people, and stories connected to the University of Portland community. This is a great opportunity for a student interested in communications, media production, storytelling, marketing, journalism, or digital content creation to gain hands-on experience working on a professional podcast. Shift times may vary.

Requirements

• Dependable and able to consistently meet deadlines
• Organized and able to manage multiple steps of a project independently
• Comfortable learning and using audio/video editing software
• Detail-oriented and able to recognize opportunities to improve audio and storytelling
• A strong communicator who is comfortable asking questions and receiving feedback
• Interested in storytelling, communications, media, marketing, journalism, or digital content
• Able to work independently while also collaborating with University Relations staff

Nice To Haves

• Previous podcast or audio editing experience is preferred, but not required.
• Willingness to train the right student who demonstrates strong attention to detail, creativity, and a willingness to learn.
