About The Position

We are seeking a responsible and attentive computer lab proctor to oversee daily operations and ensure smooth functioning of the Projections, Lighting, and Interactivity (PLAI) Lab. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about basic computer hardware and software, possess strong organizational skills, and have the ability to provide technical assistance as needed. The PLAI Lab Proctor will monitor lab activities, enforce policies, assist users with basic troubleshooting, and maintain a conducive environment for productive work. Requirements

  • Familiarity with macOS and Windows operating systems
  • Familiarity with common video and data signal cables
  • Organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of/interest in media software. For example: QLab Adobe Creative Suite Green Hippo
  • Working knowledge of/interest in High End Systems Hog 4 lighting software
  • Working knowledge of basic audio and sound systems

Responsibilities

  • Monitor computer lab activities to ensure compliance with usage policies and guidelines.
  • Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support to lab users.
  • Provide access to authorized users of adjacent Texas Performing Arts facilities.
  • Report technical issues or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the computer lab.
  • Arrive on time for work and maintain a reliable attendance record.
  • Represent Texas Performing Arts with a pleasant and professional demeanor through all interactions.
