About The Position

The student pharmacist will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain practical experience, enabling them to meet patient needs. This role involves gaining experience in prescription order processing, verbal communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking. The successful candidate will support FMCNA’s mission, vision, core values, and customer service philosophy, while adhering to the FMCNA Compliance Program and all regulatory and division/company policy requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required
Currently pursuing advanced degree in pharmacy
Licensed as an intern in the state where the student is practicing pharmacy
0 – 1 year’s related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to work toward established goals independently
Pay close attention to detail
Communicate effectively with fellow professionals.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Proficient with PCs, Microsoft Office Applications
Ability to quickly learn new programs.

Nice To Haves

Mail order and/or retail experience helpful.
Above average organizational skills are needed to be successful in this position.

Responsibilities

Under Pharmacist preceptor supervision and per company policies and procedures, assists with preparation and distribution of products and performs general pharmacy duties.
Monitors the drug file and prepares prescriptions for packaging and or distribution.
Counts and fills patient prescriptions based on order.
Prepares prescription labels to be placed on dispensing containers.
Attaches additional information and instructions on the dispensing container, when necessary.
Presents final dispensed product(s) to pharmacist preceptor for verification and final check.
Organizes finished products for packing/distribution.
Helps to ensure that pharmacy area is always clean and orderly.
May assist in maintaining adequate levels of inventory by ordering drugs, following established procedures.
Prepares and labels stocked drugs.
Obtains and enters patient, medical or prescription order data into computer system.
Maintains an orderly filing system.
Escalates issues to pharmacy preceptor for resolution, as deemed necessary.
Reviews and complies with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state, and federal laws, and regulations.
Assists with various projects as assigned by Pharmacist preceptor.
Other related duties as assigned.
