About The Position

The Student Personnel Officer is responsible for operating student personnel functions, including the discipline and behavioral adjustment system and management of significant incidents, in compliance with government and management directives. The role is at the Los Angeles Job Corps Center in Los Angeles, California. The position pays $27.84 per hour and is full-time, with eight-hour shifts Monday through Friday.

Requirements

Associate degree and one year of related experience; directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing and implementing new and revised policies and procedures affecting student discipline, coordinating with other departments to support overall center objectives.
Regularly review and audit assigned areas for contractual compliance and effectiveness of services to students, and prepare related reports.
Address student behavior to help ensure a safe, disciplined learning environment.
Determine and administer disciplinary action for students who violate rules and regulations; counsel students when their behavior on or off center is inappropriate.
Coordinate and monitor review board and peer court functions and actions.
Coordinate student discipline with other center staff and maintain documentation of records and activity reports.
Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for the work environment.
Conduct orientation and training on the disciplinary system for staff and students.
Assist in preparing and updating the disciplinary sections of the student handbook.
