About The Position

This position is for a Student Part-Time Professor to teach DVM1100 Canada and the Challenges of International Development and Globalization (3 units) during the Fall 2026 semester. The course will study the impact of globalization on Canadian society and analyze Canada's role in international development and globalization, examining government development institutions and policy, the private sector, and civil society organizations. The course components include discussion groups and lectures, and it will be delivered in person. This course is part of the In-Depth Experiential Learning Stream (IELS), with a minimum of 60% of the student's final grade allocated to experiential learning activities.

Requirements

Ph.D. completed or in progress, or equivalent experience in the field of social sciences and International Development.
Submit a one-to-two page proposal on an important topic, outlining how they would teach this course (theme, content, literature, pedagogy).
Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.

Nice To Haves

University teaching experience is an asset.
Experience in the In-Depth Experiential Learning Stream (IELS) would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Teach DVM1100 Canada and the Challenges of International Development and Globalization.
Deliver course content through discussion groups and lectures.
Incorporate experiential learning activities, which will constitute at least 60% of the student's final grade.
Develop and implement a teaching proposal outlining the course theme, content, literature, and pedagogy.
