About The Position

This position is for a Student Part-Time Professor to teach TRA1301, Introduction to Translation, Section B, during the Winter 2027 semester. The course focuses on the practice of translation, including the use of dictionaries and documentation, and exercises in preparation for translation. Students will translate a variety of simple texts from French into English. The course will be offered online.

Requirements

• M.A. in Translation or an undergraduate diploma and experience in translation.
• An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
• Must be a student.
• Must have competence in a second language (passive).

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the teaching of translation or post-editing.

Responsibilities

• Teach Introduction to Translation (TRA1301, Section B).
• Focus on the practice of translation, including dictionaries and documentation.
• Provide exercises in preparation for translation.
