About The Position

Exploration des considérations éthiques et des stratégies pratiques pour engager les patientes, patients et les partenaires communautaires dans la recherche en sciences de la santé interdisciplinaires. Requirements

Currently enrolled in a doctoral program in health sciences, public health, population health, epidemiology, health policy, or a related field; OR hold a doctorate in a relevant field and hold a postdoctoral researcher position; OR possess equivalent professional expertise in patient engagement, community-based research, health equity, or public health.
Demonstrate substantial and recent experience (within the last five years) in developing, implementing, or sustaining partnerships with individuals with lived experience, patients, caregivers, community organizations, Indigenous communities, health system partners, or other relevant community partners in the context of health research.
Provide concrete evidence of the scope and depth of this experience, including: the number and types of research partnerships, projects, advisory groups, or community initiatives the candidate has significantly contributed to; the duration and continuity of these partnerships; the stages of the research process in which partners have participated (e.g., priority setting, study design, governance, recruitment, data interpretation, knowledge mobilization, evaluation); the candidate's role and level of responsibility; the number or diversity of individuals, communities, or organizations mobilized; and documented products, impacts, or outcomes resulting from these partnerships.
Possess teaching or teaching assistant experience at the university level.
Demonstrated expertise in applying ethical, respectful, inclusive, and equitable approaches to engage individuals with lived experience and community partners throughout the research process.
Experience in addressing informed consent, power dynamics, cultural humility, accessibility, representation, remuneration, reciprocity, transparency, accountability, or other related ethical considerations in collaborative health research.
Experience applying co-design, co-creation, participatory research, patient-oriented research, community-based research, or other collaborative approaches to research projects that address community-identified needs and priorities.

Nice To Haves

Competence in French (language of instruction is French, second language competence is passive).

Responsibilities

Teach the course 'Engagement en recherche : personnes ayant une expérience vécue et partenariats communautaires' (HSS6513, Section A) during the 2026 Fall Semester.
Deliver a minimum of 75% in-person instruction for the hybrid course.
Engage students in exploring ethical considerations and practical strategies for involving patients and community partners in interdisciplinary health research.
Examine principles of respectful and inclusive collaboration that values diverse perspectives.
Address key topics including informed consent, power dynamics, cultural competence, and equitable partnerships.
Highlight navigating ethical challenges, building meaningful relationships, and co-creating research projects that address community needs and priorities.
Emphasize transparency and accountability, equipping participants with skills to uphold ethical standards while promoting social justice and collective well-being.
