About The Position

This position involves assisting in the enforcement of UWSP parking regulations by patrolling campus parking facilities on foot or by vehicle. Responsibilities include general clean-up and maintenance of campus parking lots and property, and other duties as assigned by full-time staff. The role serves as the first line of customer service for parking-related inquiries and requires communication via two-way radio.

Requirements

  • Must be a current student employed or enrolled at any of the Universities of Wisconsin.
  • Ability to patrol campus parking facilities on foot and/or utilize a university motor vehicle.
  • Ability to communicate via two-way radio operation.
  • Ability to maintain equipment and vehicle condition.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Must provide authorization to work within the United States as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce parking regulations & issue accurate citations
  • Assist students, faculty & visitors with parking-related information as the first-line of customer service in the parking lots
  • Communicate via two-way radio operation, in compliance with department regulations
  • Investigate & research parking permit compliance
  • Support the customer service mission & philosophy of Parking Services office
  • Assist with parking lot maintenance & safety (e.g. meter maintenance, sign maintenance, garbage & debris removal, hazard & damage identification, etc.)
  • Maintain equipment and vehicle condition to ensure equipment longevity
  • Audit & collect meter revenue as needed.
  • Accept extra duties from full-time staff as assigned.
