About The Position

Student Nurses at UH Samaritan Medical Center have the opportunity to work on the Med/Surg, ICU, or Float Pool units. As a NAII (Nursing Assistant II), you will work under the direction of an RN to provide safe, efficient, age-specific care to patients and families to assist them in attaining, maintaining, regaining, and/or sustaining optimal health status. This role offers flexible schedules and orientation, a supportive and education-focused culture, more hands-on practice of clinical and interpersonal skills, and exposure to EMR systems. It also provides a pathway for skill development, career advancement, and a potential pathway to an RN position post-graduation.

Requirements

Enrollment in a Diploma RN, Associate or bachelor’s degree of Nursing from an accredited program
Successful completion of a Registered Nursing Fundamentals course required
Most up-to-date transcripts should be uploaded with application

Nice To Haves

Prior experience on a related unit or specialty in a practicum, internship or STNA/PCNA/NAII is preferred

Responsibilities

Direct patient care delivery, including, but not limited to: ADLs/hygiene, Vital signs, I&O, Bladder scanning, EKG, Glucometer & other point of care testing (where applicable) and Restraints
Communication and documentation of interventions and observations
Participation in quality improvement process
Involved in learning and self-improvement
Initiates and maintains a positive relationship with patients/customers and coworkers
