About The Position

This role involves delivering compassionate, direct patient care under RN supervision, ensuring every individual’s daily needs and comfort are met with dignity. The intern will monitor and track vital signs and patient responses to provide the clinical team with real-time data necessary for safe, effective interventions. They will also document the patient’s journey and clinical observations accurately to maintain high-quality medical records and seamless care transitions. Collaboration with a preceptor to refine care plans, using frontline observations to help shape the best possible outcomes for patients, is also a key aspect. Additionally, the intern will perform other tasks as assigned, including preparing/transporting patients for diagnostics and supporting a clean, safe healing environment.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Nurse Aide obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Must be accepted or enrolled into a Nursing program upon date of hire/transfer and begin classes within 90 days of date of hire/transfer.

Nice To Haves

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited School of Nursing ADN or BSN program
  • Successful completion of first semester of RN curriculum
  • Maryland Board of Nursing CNA certification required
  • Commitment of 60 hours minimum (5-6 shifts) per semester based on intern’s availability with no obligation to commit to days, nights, weekends, weekday, or holiday shifts.
