About The Position

Ascension is seeking a Student Nurse Intern to join their team at Ascension St. Vincent's Southside Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. This PRN position involves collaborating with RN preceptors to provide direct patient care, monitor vital signs, assist with care planning, document patient progress, and support clinical flow. The role is ideal for individuals enrolled in a nursing program looking to gain hands-on experience in a healthcare setting.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
High school diploma/GED required.
Must be accepted or enrolled into a Nursing program upon date of hire/transfer and begin classes within 90 days of date of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with RN preceptors to deliver direct, compassionate nursing care and assist patients with essential activities of daily living.
Master clinical fundamentals by accurately monitoring vital signs and observing patient status to ensure timely medical responses.
Influence care planning by reporting critical observations and test results, directly contributing to the development of patient treatment strategies.
Maintain real-time documentation of patient progress and environmental safety to ensure seamless communication across the healthcare team.
Support clinical flow by preparing and transporting patients for diagnostic services and managing the immediate care environment.
